RACE CANCELED - MOVED TO 2021
New Date: Spring of 2021
After careful consideration of the current events surrounding the growing impact of COVID-19 and following directives from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Public Health we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 3rd Annual Spring Race Half-Marathon. Thus, the race will NOT be held Saturday, May 16th 2020. Our primary concern is the safety of our participants, race volunteers, and community!
We do however fully intend to conduct the 3rd Annual Spring Race Half-Marathon next year on May 15th 2021.
This has been an emotionally difficult decision to make; my organization enjoys holding these races because each race highlights our beautiful trail and we get to meet so many interesting and amazing runners.
We’ve identified three options for participants to continue their Annual Spring Race Half-Marathon experience:
1. DEFERMENT: Join us for our event next year. We will automatically transfer your entry over to next year’s race. We will post updated information as it becomes available. Registration will open at the end of this year and remain open leading up to next year’s race.
2. REFUND: We will refund your money, including registrations fees.
3. DONATION: You can convert your registration to a donation. It will be used to help to continue maintaining our amazing Great Guernsey Trail while continuing our tradition of building and expanding our trail system.
*We ask that you select the option that fits you best by May 15th, 2020, so that we can close out this year’s event.

REGISTRATION OPTIONS
GREAT GUERNSEY TRAIL SPRING HALF-MARATHON, 10K & 5K RACE
Join us May 16th and take part in an event meant to showcase the Great Guernsey Trail and will consist of a Half-Marathon, a 10k, a 5k and a Fun Run. This will be a bibbed timed race with timing services provided by Muskingum Multi-Sports.
Proceeds raised at this event will support the Guernsey County Community Development’s (CDC) Great Guernsey Trail and Coal Ridge Park & Trails Development Projects. The CDC built and maintains the 7 mile paved Great Guernsey Trail as well as Coal Ridge Park & Trails. There are plans in the works to add over 7 miles of hiking and walking trails on property owned and maintained by the CDC. All trails and parks are opened to the public and are free of charge. Funding for the maintenance of the trails and the parks is by donations only.
STARTING TIME:
Half-Marathon-9:00am
10k / 5K Run / Walk-9:15am
RACE COURSE:
The Half-Marathon, 10k and 5k races and Fun Run are out and back events held entirely on the paved (and flat) Great Guernsey Trail. The route starts in at the Corduroy Rd Trail Head and follows the trail to each turn around and then returns to Corduroy Rd. This is a scenic, traffic free route that follows Leatherwood Creek. There will be water at all of the turnarounds, first aid stations and finish line, in addition there will be fruit, and water and Gatorade at the half marathon turn around. Food will be provided at the finish line as well. Time limit for the half-marathon is 4 hours.
AWARDS:
Engraved plaques will be issued to the top three overall finishers and medals will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of the following age categories: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ Walkers are welcome! Custom made finisher’s medals (with unique logo) will be awarded to every individual that completes the race, whether running or walking.
EARLY PACKET PICK-UP & RACE DAY REGISTRATION:
Race Day registration and packet pick-up will be at the registration building at 63500 Corduroy Rd. Cambridge, Ohio - starting at 7:30am
RACE PACKETS & FINISH LINE PERKS:
Your race packet will include a T-shirt with race logo, swag and more. All participants registered by May 5th are guaranteed a Race T-shirt. Extra t-shirts will be available for on a first come first serve basis on race day.
ENTRY FEES: (non-refundable)
5k Race and Fun Run & Walk $20.00 through May 15th – Day of Entry $25.00
10k Race $25.00 through May 15th – Day of Entry $30.00
Half-Marathon $30.00 through May 15th – Day of Entry $35.00
